Virgil R. Etherton

AGE: 92 • Millville

Virgil R. Etherton, 92 of Millville, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on his way to his new home in Heaven with his loved ones by his side. Virgil was born in Newport, Tennessee and as a teenager with his parents and siblings moved to Seabrook NJ. He was a World War II Veteran and served his country in the US Army Field Artillery in Germany and France. Virgil had several jobs during his life time and enjoyed working. He worked at Wheaton Glass Company for 30 years and at Kontes Glass Company in Vineland NJ where he worked for 17 years without missing a day. One of the accomplishments he was proud of was that he learned to drive a Fork lift at the age of 74.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Etherton, and two brothers, Eddie and William. He leaves cherished memories to his children and family. His son, Paul Ziennker ( Debbie) of Millville, daughter Holly Ryan ( Steven) of Little Egg Harbor NJ , a sister Helen Mango of Leesburg, Fla a brother , Herman Etherton of Bridgeton, NJ, 6 grandchildren and several dear nieces and nephews.

Virgil was a member of Central Baptist Church and formerly lived in Newfield before moving to Millville 12 years ago. Virgil enjoyed auctions, flea markets, yard sales and country rides throughout the area, and going to Avalon and Ocean City. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, and having shrimp dinners.
