Shari Lynn Booz, nee Lewis, 58, of Millville passed away peacefully in the Inspira Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded with loving family members. Born in Sea Isle City, Shari lived most of her life in Millville as a gifted music teacher serving in Vineland schools for 16 years and in Lakeside school in Millville for over 20 years. Shari loved music and was dedicated to her students and instilled in them the beauty and joy of music. She was adored by her students. Shari will be sadly missed at the choir concerts and musical plays at Lakeside.
She was a member of the National Association for Music Education. Shari was an avid reader, enjoyed playing racquetball, walking on the beach in Sea Isle and decorating for different holidays. She also was the pianist at First Methodist Church in Millville for 30 years and for the past 6 years the pianist for First Methodist Church in Hammonton. In addition to her teaching, Shari was a very talented singer with the a cappella vocal group, The Next Chapter. But her true joy was her family and grandchildren.
Shari is survived by her husband: Ken, Jr.; son: Jake (Summer); daughter: Lindsey Catherine (Adam); brother: Harve Lewis (Pam); sister: Evelyn Schweibinz (Charles); 3 grandchildren: Parker, Rachel and Noah.
A Memorial service to celebrate Shari’s life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Lakeside Auditorium at 4 PM. Relatives and friends may call from 2 PM at Lakeside. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Inspira Foundation, c/c Scarpa Cancer Center, 2950 College Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360.
