Richard J. “Rich” Forsythe, 79, of Millville, passed away at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital after a brief illness. Rich was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., but lived most of his life in Millville. He was retired from Prudential Insurance, working there as an assistant manager and also as a sales rep for over 30 years.

Rich was very concerned about his community and served on several boards, most notably; the Millville Housing Authority and the Cumberland County Utility Authority. He was a former Jaycee and a long time United Way volunteer.

Rich was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also followed and enjoyed watching many different Millville High School sport teams. His favorite poker game was Texas Hold ‘Em, and he will be remembered for his skill and crafty play. Rich also had a dry sense of humor.

He is survived by his beloved wife: Carolyn; 5 daughters: Kathleen Forsythe, Karen Raguette (Arthur), Linda Tyson (Jeffrey), Patti Forsythe and Joanne Forsythe; 3 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 1 step great granddaughter. Rich was predeceased by his parents: Thomas and Helen.

Per Rich’s wishes there will no services.
