Mabel E. Miller went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. She was born August 11, 1918 and was a life long resident of Millville. Mabel was a graduate of Millville High School and Glassboro State College. She taught elementary school and English in the Millville school system for 40 years until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church on Maurice River since 1927. As a Sunday School teacher of adults and children, she shared her faith and love of the Lord with generations of men, women and children. She was also a faithful member of the Millville Woman’s Club, as well as, the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association. As a teacher Mabel touched numerous lives and made lifelong friendships with staff and students alike. A testament to her impact is the large number of former students who corresponded and visited with her regularly, giving her credit and praise for helping to enrich their lives. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and was very thoughtful to her friends. Mabel is survived by her brother John P. “Jack” Miller Jr. of Vineland; her niece Robin Lynn Miller of Medford; great niece Chantiel Miller of Vineland; her cousin and caregiver Carol Nagao (Scott); cousins, H. Spencer Prichett Sr., and George O. Prichett (Claudia), all of Millville; her devoted best friend Luella Dryer of Millville; and numerous great-great grand nieces, a nephew and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Ellen W. Miller. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Maurice River, 119 N. Second Street, Millville. Family and friends will be received from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday in the church. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville at the convenience of the family.
