James Trupkiewicz

Carmel – James H. Trupkiewicz, 76, of Carmel passed away peacefully Saturday evening January 12, 2019 at Lincoln Specialty Care Nursing Home in Vineland where he had been a resident for a short period.

Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Maurice M. and Ethel B. (nee Sloan) Trupkiewicz. He was a graduate of Bridgeton High School and in his youth was a member of Boy Scout Troop #1 in Bridgeton. He was a Carmel resident for several years before entering Lincoln Specialty Care.

Jim served in the US Army during the Vietnam War; seeing active duty in Vietnam for a year as an ordinance specialist. He was honorably discharged to the US Army Reserves in 1968. He received the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Metal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and was a sharpshooter.

Mr. Trupkiewicz worked as an auto mechanic at the Bob Novick Auto Mall on N. Pearl Street in Bridgeton for several years prior to his retirement.

He is survived by one daughter, Donna L. Trupkiewicz of Millville and one brother, Robert L. Trupkiewicz (Terry) of Millsboro, DE.
