A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in The Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depot Streets, Millville. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 10:40 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Frederick Joseph Neff

Millville – Frederick Joseph Neff, age 92 of Millville, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland.

Mr. Neff was born in East Orange to the late Walter G. and Irene W. (Cagney) Neff. He spent most of his life in The Oranges and Newark. He received degrees from Seton Hall University and New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Mr. Neff was part of the commissioning crew aboard a heavy cruiser while serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He spent most of his working career in the environmental field as a Principal Engineer in both New Jersey State Government, and consulting companies, including Ebasco Services and Raytheon Corp. in NYC, NY. He also consulted to Federal Laboratories among which were Los Alamos, Oak Ridge and Princeton-Forrestal. In his latter years, he worked in the Nuclear Generation Field in Mexico and Taiwan.

Mr. Neff was preceded in death by his wife Helen; three children, Irene Donatuccio, Michael Neff, and Mary Smith; three brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his children, Lucy Camacho of Chatham, Julie Short of Morris Plains, Stephen A. Neff of Millville, and Michelle Neff of Bedminster; and eight grandchildren.
