A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday January 15, 2018 at The Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depot Streets, Millville, followed by his burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice Care, 2111 New Road, #100, Northfield, NJ 08225, or Eagle View Healthcare, 849 Big Oak Road, Pittsgrove, NJ 08318, or to the charity of one's choice.

Ernest N. DiPalma

Millville – Ernest “Ernie” N. DiPalma, age 85 of Millville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Eagle View Healthcare, Pittsgrove.

Born in Vineland to the late John and Mary (DeRosa) DiPalma, Ernie graduated from Sacred Heart High School, and received his Associate’s Degree from Cumberland County College.

Ernie served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

For 35 years, he worked for the State of New Jersey at the Vineland Developmental Center as the Supervisor of Clinical Laboratories and retired.

For many years, Ernie was an active member of the Cumberland Council 18 New Jersey Civil Service Association, where he held many positions, and he was also a Past President and Past Negotiator for Cumberland County. He was also an active member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Millville. He enjoyed working in his garden, bird watching and spending time on his computer. But most of all, Ernie loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ernie will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years Mary (Bird); his children, Eileen Duffy and husband Edward F. Duffy Esq. of Vineland, Kathleen Galarza and husband Angelo of Port Elizabeth, John DiPalma and wife Kari of Washougal, WA, Paul DiPalma and wife Margaret of Pilesgrove; his siblings, Ralph DiPalma of Vineland, Anna Daly of Millville, and Jeanette Dolbow and husband Charles of Ellenton, FL; seven grandchildren, Evelyn and Matthew Duffy, Alyssa DiPalma Carswell, Nicholas and William Galarza, Danika DiPalma Pfeiffer, and Mia DiPalma; and many nieces and nephews.
