Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday morning February 22nd at 11 o’clock at Bethel Baptist Church, 131 Love Lane in Bridgeton with Pastor Greg Baker officiating. The interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township. Friends will be received on Thursday evening February 21st between 6 and 8 at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce Street in Bridgeton and again on Friday morning at Bethel Baptist Church between 10 and 11. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Barbara’s memory to Operation Christmas Child, c/o Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

Barbara K. Lane (nee Huffman), 74, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon February 15, 2019 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland.

The wife of Jerry A. Lane, she was born in Clendenin, WV and was the daughter of the late Opie R. Sr. and Wilma E. Huffman (nee Woods). She was a 1963 graduate of Clendenin High School.

Barbara worked as a bank teller for Newfield National Bank in Hopewell Township until her retirement in 2017. She had previously worked for Farmers and Merchants Bank in Bridgeton and as a cafeteria aide in the Upper Deerfield School system.

She loved needlepoint, walking, reading and attending Philadelphia Phillies games.

Barbara was a devoted member at Bethel Baptist Church in Upper Deerfield Township.

In addition to her husband of 52 years, she is survived by two children, Tracy A. Lane (Jeanne Marie) of New Brunswick, Canada and Tammy A. Slagle (Steven) of Miramar Beach, FL, granddaughters, Alyssa Slagle of Seattle, WA, Megan Slagle and Emma Slagle, both of Miramar Beach, FL and sisters, Maxine Bayless of CA, Marian Anderson of WV and Norma King of NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Opie R. Huffman Jr., Wanda Estep and Anna Hartman.
