Anthony J. “Tony” Bracall

Vineland – Anthony J. “Tony” Bracall, 98 of Vineland, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, surrounded by his family. Born on May 31, 1920, Tony was a lifelong Vineland resident and a graduate of Vineland High School, Class of 1938.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving from 1941 to 1945, where he was a glider pilot during WWII with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He served in the Asian Theater and was stationed in North Africa, India, Burma and China, where he received numerous commendations and an honorable discharge.

Tony worked for Sears Roebuck, South Jersey Gas and WMVB Radio Station (CALL BRACALL). He was Vice President and Sales Manager at Lilliston Ford, also worked at Eastlyn Golf Course, served 12 years on the Vineland Zoning Board and was the first director of L & I for Vineland.

During his years, he liked fishing, playing golf and hunting, enjoyed the outdoors, especially his tomatoes and fig tree and was an avid Phillies fan. Tony was a lifelong member of the Hickory Gunning Club.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lucille of 53 years; his parents, John and Palma Bracaliello; brothers, Bernard and Enrico Bracaliello; sister, Anna Daly; sister-in-law, Phyllis Bracaliello and his companion, Helen Johnson.

Tony is survived by his sons, Robert (Renee) Bracall and Dennis (Maria) Bracall; daughter, Cynthia (Vince) Scalese; 7 grandchildren, Robert II, Randy, Jacquelyn, Dennis, Tony, Krissy and Martin; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of Justice Court at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home for the excellent care he received.
